Over 100 people came out to hear Movement Disorder specialist Dr. Robert Chen, the Catherine Manson Chair in Movement Disorders, discuss the latest research findings related to Parkinson’s Disease and dystonia. The fifth lecture of the series was held on October 25, 2017 at the Toronto Western Hospital.
Hosted by world-renowned neurologist, Dr. Anthony Lang, Director of the Morton and Gloria Shulman Movement Disorders Clinic and the Edmond J. Safra Program in Parkinson’s Disease; and holder of the Lily Safra Chair in Movement Disorders, the lecture also included a live demonstration of transcranial magnetic stimulation — an investigative tool used to detect brain function abnormalities. Also featured was long-time patient Andrew Paskauskas who related his own personal experience living with Writer’s Cramp — a form of dystonia — and how it has affected his life.
