Known across Canada and the world as one of the leading centres in cardiac and vascular care, the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre launched its fourth magazine, produced in partnership with the Globe and Mail, on November 28, 2018. This issue is of particular significance as the magazine pays tribute to the life of Peter Munk and his extraordinary legacy of giving to Toronto General Hospital.
In addition to celebrating Peter Munk’s life and the impact his transformational gifts have had on the people at the centre, this 40-page magazine also places a spotlight on the medical expertise, innovation and cutting-edge technology found at the hospital, shining a light on Canada's premier cardiac centre through profiles of patients, staff and donors.
“A big part of what we do to honour Peter’s legacy is delivering on the promises we made to him on how we would improve the lives of patients with heart and blood vessel disease,” says Dr. Barry Rubin, Medical Director and Chair of the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre, who is featured in the magazine. “Peter wanted us to build this centre to generate new knowledge that would translate everywhere around the world.”
