Taking place in Toronto at the newly refurbished Crystal Ballroom at the King Edward Hotel on November 8, 2017, the special evening event included cocktails, a seated dinner for 280 guests and a full presentation of Giambattista Valli’s Spring/Summer 2018 runway collection.
Event Co-Chairs were Vonna Bitove and Suzanne Rogers. A TGWHF Board Member, Vonna and her family have championed the cause of supporting families struggling with dementia, through the establishment of the Dotsa Bitove Wellness Academy (DBWA).
The Academy provides participants and their families with opportunities for personal growth and discovery through creative activities, education and learning, artistic expression, discussion, intergenerational inquiry, exercise and enjoyment. The Academy allows for participants to maintain the highest possible quality of life, create new friendships and express themselves through stimulating activities. Created by University Health Network and the generous support of the Bitove Foundation, DBWA is a centre for excellence in research and care affiliated with York University. The Academy is committed to helping change the way society views and treats dementia and to create a more compassionate, person-centred approach to dementia care.
