The Vision Program at Toronto Western Hospital (TWH) ranks as a leader in Canada and one of the top 5 programs in North America. It is dedicated to advancing vision science by supporting excellence in patient care, innovative research and education. On the leading edge of technology and treatment techniques, our ophthalmologists are able to restore vision to many patients in cases where just a few years ago, it wasn’t possible.
THE OPHTHALMOLOGY DEPARTMENT AT TWH
  • The largest ophthalmology program in Canada treating more than 65,000 patients and conducting more than 4,200 surgeries annually.

  • We have the largest Retinal Surgery Unit in North America.

  • We treat the most complex retinal diseases,including diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment and macular degeneration.

  • We are home to one of the largest Glaucoma Units in the country.
