Training future vision specialists is an integral aspect of the Vision Program and in fact, TWH has the only ophthalmology clinician-scientist training program in Canada. Leading edge on-site medical training at TWH ensures that tomorrow’s specialists know how to use today’s technology, while preparing them to meet changing patient needs in the future. TWH’s Vision Program attracts students from around the world.

We are home to Canada’s:

  • Only clinician-scientist training program for ophthalmology

  • Largest ophthalmology residency-training program in cooperation with the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto

  • Largest ophthalmology subspecialty program including fellowship training in glaucoma, retinal and corneal disease.

  • Largest number of corneal fellows in Canada teaching the next generation of cornea surgeons from around the world
