How is Lara doing?
In February, Lara underwent a successful surgery to relive the pressure on her brain. She is currently recuperating at home and going to rehabilitation on an out-patient basis.
What are Lara's recovery prospects?
Lara is hoping (and pushing for) a full recovery. Lara is improving steadily and to date has made great progress with her left leg and is determined that her her left arm will soon respond to rehab.
How's Lara's family coping with all this?
This ordeal has been a shock to them, to say the least. When something like this happens, it is amazing how quickly the important things in life come into focus. Team Lara (Lara's husband, family and friends) have pitched in to keep the Kaufman household running.

What's the connection between Lara, Dr. Tator and Mark Weisbarth?
Lara Kaufman and Susan Weisbarth are first cousins. Dr. Tator is Susan’s uncle and Susan is married to Mark Weisbarth. Basically, everybody's family.
What's the story with Mark's ride?
Mark is riding with America by Bicycle on the Across America North Tour. The tour rides over 5,800 kilometers in 50 days, averaging about 130 kilometres per day. The tour supports the cyclists during their ride from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean. Cyclists stay in motels, receive route guidance, food and refreshments and access to a bicycle mechanic enroute. The tour spends time in Canada when it cuts across Southern Ontario in early August.
What percentage of the funds raised are going to Brain and Spinal Cord Regeneration research?
100% of the funds raised in Lara's name are directed to Brain and Spinal Cord Regeneration research at the Krembil Neuroscience Centre, Toronto Western Hospital.

A minimum of $20 must be donated in order to receive a tax receipt.
I made a donation online. When can I expect my tax receipt?
All successful online donation tax receipts are generated with 10 minutes of making a donation
I lost my original tax receipt. Can I get a copy?

How long is the tax receipt valid for?
You have five years to claim your tax receipt on your income taxes.
