The McEwen Centre for Regenerative Medicine is located at University Health Network (UHN) in downtown Toronto. The Centre is an integral part of the exciting new Medical and Related Sciences (MaRS) District, an innovative research park located in the heart of Canada’s medical R&D community.
The McEwen Centre for Regenerative Medicine was established in 2003 with a generous donation from Rob and Cheryl McEwen, which they matched in 2006 with a second donation.
The McEwen Centre’s vision is to be a world-renowned centre for stem cell biology and regenerative medicine. To achieve this ambitious goal, the team of McEwen Investigators is working together to accelerate the development of more effective treatments for conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, respiratory disease and spinal cord injury.
What is Regenerative Medicine
Regenerative Medicine harnesses the power of stem cells to repair, regenerate or replace diseased cells, tissues and organs.
At the McEwen Centre, Investigators are using regenerative medicine to challenge conventional approaches to treating disease.
