The 4th Grand Cru Culinary Wine Festival was a “Grand” success, bringing the total amount raised over 4 years to $5.5 million dollars! Funds raised at this year’s Grand Cru will support the establishment of the I3 Centre, a new cardiovascular imaging facility at Peter Munk Cardiac Centre at Toronto General Hospital.
The I3 Centre, will incorporate the latest in imaging, intervention and innovation in cardiovascular diagnosis and treatments. Radiologists, cardiologists, cardiac and vascular surgeons combine knowledge and expertise as an integrated team of specialists to produce advancements that will make an impact on the world stage.
Events of the festival included the Halpern Portfolio Wine Tasting at the Capitol Theatre; the Exclusive LePin Wine Tasting and Luncheon, conducted by Pierre-Antoine Rovani and by Chef Daniel Boulud, Daniel and Chef Martin Kouprie, Pangaea and hosted by Robbie & Laura Pryde; and the Private Wine and Dine Experiences that took place at 19 of Toronto’s most spectacular and luxurious homes.
This year’s Grand Cru provided another exclusive opportunity for a meeting of the minds among Toronto’s elite corporate community, wine connoisseurs, prominent local and international chefs, notable vintners, and UHN scientists.
Our sincere thanks go out to the Event Co-chairs, Advisory Board Members, chefs, vintners, University Health Network scientists, sponsors, hosts and guests who all made the 2008 Grand Cru Culinary Wine Festival such a success!
The 5th annual Grand Cru Culinary Wine Festival will feature the Exclusive Wine and Dine Experience and Live Auction and will take place on October 29-31 2009.
