Our Cause – Supporting Research
The scope of research and complexity of cases at University Health Network have made it a national and international source for discovery, education and patient care. It has the largest hospital-based research program in Canada, with major research in diabetes, transplantation, cardiology, neurosciences, oncology, surgical innovation, infectious diseases, and genomic medicine.

Your participation in Grand Cru provides extraordinary research support to the outstanding medical researchers at University Health Network. These investigators are internationally recognized leaders whose work is transformative in their field. Funds from Grand Cru will help to retain them in Toronto and enable them to significantly expand their research programs.

In 2009, half of the proceeds will support the McEwen Centre for Regenerative Medicine and the remaining 50% will support basic research at Toronto General Hospital and Toronto Western Hospital.

This year, proceeds from Grand Cru will support Dr. Michael Fehlings and the Krembil Neuroscience Centre, Toronto Western Hospital. Visit www.uhn.ca/Focus_of_Care/KNC for more on the Krembil Neuroscience Centre.
