Event Info: Event Day
In order for Event Day to be a success — and to ensure you, and your team members have a day they'll never forget — there is some very important information you need to know.
The Event
- The 5K Your Way will be held on October 18, 2009.
- The 5K Your Way starts promptly at 8:00 a.m.
- All participants must report to the starting line 15 minutes prior to the start of the Event, at 7:45 a.m. wearing bibs and timing chips.
- Runners will leave the starting gate first, followed by the walkers.
- Sorry, but no strollers, wagons, or dogs are permitted on the course due to regulations by the City of Toronto.
Hospitality Tent
- The TGW 5K Your Way tent is located in Queen’s Park across from St Joseph Street
- Walkers and runners can leave personal items in the Hospitality Tent at their own risk. The Toronto General & Western Hospital Foundation will not be responsible for lost or stolen items.
- Water will be available for walkers and runners at the Hospitality Tent before the start of the event.
Pledge Collection
There will be a Pledge Collection Tent near the designated team meeting signs. All pledges can be dropped off at the Pledge Collection Tent from 7:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Route and Map
The 5K Your Way starts on the north east corner of Queen's Park and runs south on the west side of University Avenue to Wellington Street. The course turns north on to the east side on University Avenue to the finish line opposite Hart House.

Parking
Please use the following directions as a guideline for parking on Event Day:
- YMCA at Grosvenor Street - near Yonge Street
- West of Mount Sinai Hospital / Princess Margaret Hospital - there is a parking garage on Murray Street
- East of Toronto General Hospital /Sick Kids Hospital - Elizabeth Street
- There is a Green P parking lot on Bedford Road just north of Bloor Street
Please note that the streets surrounding Queen's Park will be shut down at approximately 7:00 a.m. on Event Day.
TTC Subway does not start until 9:00 a.m., but ground transportation is available earlier. Please check www.ttc.ca for route schedules.
