The gift of life received just in time
Watching Swarna Devendra struggle to stay alive with pulmonary fibrosis, a chronic disease causing an abnormal formation of fibre-like scar tissue in the lungs, was extremely painful for her husband Dave Devendra. After 12 months of living with an external supply of oxygen and constant pain, a matching pair of lungs was found for Swarna and transplanted by Dr. Andrew Pierre. The Devendras were most appreciative of the high-quality care and guidance given by the transplant team. As a gesture of gratitude, they have generously made a gift of $25,000 toward the Lung Transplant Team.
