Events benefiting the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre

Gusty winds can’t keep pool enthusiasts away

February 27, 2008 – Chilly winter weather didn’t deter 225 guests from attending the annual 8 Ball pool tournament, featuring a silent auction and gourmet tasting stations. Senator Homes, with presenting sponsor TD Waterhouse, helped raise $180,000 to finance the purchase of the Transesophageal Echocardiography System for the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre.

Supporting him at the Golf for Heart Classic at Eagles Nest Golf Club this year, were 112 golfers and a committee led by Todd Halpern, Colin Halpern, Jim McGovern, Marc Mancini, Frank Luchetta and Robbie Pryde that raised $137,000. The event, with its silent and live auctions and dinner, has been a tremendous success over the past four years.
