Feedback on Telesimulation from Around the World

Video testimonial from Dr. Iryna Moglievkina in Ukraine

"With the help of the telesimulation and the Internet, we basically bridge the distance between Canada and our smaller city in Hungary. Basically addressing the distance issue was, I think, one of the greatest problems to solve. At the end of the day, I think that all the benefit goes to the patients –  the courses and the training help serve the best interests of the patients. I think that the FLS program and telesimulation is the future for training purposes because it is possible to connect every part of the world."

– Dr. Andras Fecso, a surgeon in Hungary

"The telesimulation program has been fantastic.  It has managed to encourage all surgeons to improve their laparoscopic skills, and has definitely decreased complications. There is a great need for this type of training.  We have only 53 general surgeons in Piura, and approximately 60 urologists and 10 gynaecologists. Only 17 of 123 specialists have been trained in FLS. We believe it is necessary to continue with this type of instruction in Piura, Peru and throughout Latin America."

"There is no other way this type of education could happen here in Botswana. As I understand it, this way of transferring skills has really never been done before."

– Dr. Major Bradshaw, Dean, Botswana Medical School
